How to Throw a Back to School Bash with Chalkboard China
Back to school time can be exciting, but sometimes a little scary. Your little one may be going to a new school, splitting up with their summer playmates or worrying about a big new grade. Put your child at ease, while also getting them together with friends, in a back to school bash with these tips from Chalkboard China!
A great back to school bash should be kicked off with great invitations! We love this idea from My Hoot Designs. Use creative tags tied to a small bunch of three to five pencils stating the details of the party. You can play with this idea by using fun pencils from popular summer movies.
For activities, focus on the positives. Have the children each draw what they are most excited about in the new school year, then go around the table and have them present it. Another great activity could be a fun present for the parents! Give each child a Chalkboard China Rectangle Vase and have them write a message for their parents. Encourage them to get creative by providing different colored chalk.
No party is complete without food! We suggest keeping it simple, to make sure that it suits even the pickiest guest’s tastes. Michelle Paige suggests making grilled cheese, a common kid-friendly option, as the main course. We also love how she added a fun glass of Jell-O with whipped cream and sprinkles for dessert.
Goodie bags can be a fun way to say thank you and make sure your little guests are set to start the new school year! Include things like fun pencils, erasers and notebooks. We love this crafty idea to make mini notebooks from One Charming Party. All you need is a 5 x 8 notepad and a few embellishments.
